Wonderwise combines the investigations and personal insights of a variety of scientists with hands-on science activities. But the learning doesn’t stop with science.

Each unit offers applications for subjects across the curriculum and provides sources for more activities and further investigation. Children can shadow working scientists and learn how they became interested in their fields of study.

Each learning kit includes a program that profiles a prominent woman researcher, featuring her work in the field and laboratory. Designed to provide engaging role models for your students, each program presents the unique style and character of the scientist and can encourage your students to pursue science and math careers.

With Wonderwise, children follow scientists who:
• Observe sea otters in the wild
• Capture frogs and snakes in the rain forest
• Collect and examine fish for parasites
• Gather and investigate plant pollen
• Examine satellite photos and dinosaur era rocks
• Investigate medicinal and poisonous plants
• Monitor the health of wild animals
• Explore human genetic diseases

Get acquainted with a real scientist, then follow on a trail of scientific discovery—through dripping rain forests, on rolling oceans, across great plains, into rocky craters, and along the edge of muddy ponds.

Each Wonderwise: Women in Science kit includes a DVD or VHS, CD-ROM and Activity guide. The CD-ROM sound track and text are available in both English and Spanish.
