Pathologic lesions of the mouth are common and may reflect underlying systemic diseases. The dentist is often the first to identify oral lesions, many of which are precancerous. A patient with a pathologic lesion will be evaluated to acquaint the viewer with the medical terminology used to accurately define a lesion and communicate its presence to those involved in the patient’s care.
Dr. Heffez demonstrates the instrumentation required to obtain a biopsy, methodology of performing a biopsy and completion of the appropriate pathological forms.
