Several factors influence perception, such as physiological conditions, current emotions and past experiences. This lesson illustrates how these perceptions vary from individual to individual, and how they affect not only the way we view the world, but also how we communicate with others.

Activities teach students how perceptual differences can lead to problems in communication, and offer opportunities for students to test their skills in selection, retention and organization of stimuli.
